Last weekend, like many other people around the world, I tuned-in to watch Emma Raducanu achieve her first grand slam title by winning the US Open.
Unbelievably, she is the first qualifier ever to win a grand slam. She is also the first British female to win a grand slam singles title for 44 years. She didn’t drop a single set throughout the whole tournament. And, she’s only 18 years of age. A stunning achievement, by any yardstick.
However, what amazed me most was her unwavering determination, grit, and tenacity. She never gave up. Points became games. Games became sets. Brick by single brick, she built her victory.
Whilst the sun shone, there was no way she was going to lose that match.
We took the same approach when we conceived Auseras; “What would happen if we never gave up? No matter how hard things got, irrespective of the effort required, what could we achieve?”
The journey so far has been amazing. And brick by brick, we continue to build.
“Today the sun will rise and set. Everything else is up for grabs.”
